BMR calculator
BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate) calculator is used to calculate the base rate calorie consumptions when you at rest. It represents the minimum amount of energy needed to maintain the
body's normal metabolic activity, such as respiration, keeping heart beating, maintenance of body
temperature (thermogenesis), and digestion. BMR doesn't include the calories you burn from normal daily activities or exercise. The energy consumed is sufficient only for the
functioning of the vital organs such as the heart, lungs, nervous system, kidneys,
liver, intestine, sex organs, muscles, and skin. Basal metabolic rate may comprise 50-70% of total daily energy expenditure (daily energy needs) of man. BMR is measured in kilocalories (kcal).

What is BMR calculation formula ?
The Harris-Benedict equation (also called the Harris-Benedict principle) is a widely used method to calculate BMR.
Metric:
Women: BMR = 655,0955 + (9,5634 x weight in [kg]) + (1,8496 x height in [cm]) ? (4,6756 x age in years)
Men:BMR = 66,4730 + (13,7516 x weight in [kg]) + (5,0033 x height in [cm]) ? (6,7550 x age in years)
Imperial (US/UK):
Women: BMR = 655,0955 + (4,35 x weight in [lb]) + (4,70 x height in [in]) ? ( 4,6756 x age)
Men: BMR = 66,4730 + (6,23 x weight in [lb]) + (12,70 x height in [in]) ? (6,7550 x age in years)
This calculator provides calculation in metric units ([kg], [cm]) and imperial units ([lb], [ft], [in]).
